Jesus tells the parable of the Good Samaritan in response to an expert in the Mosaic law seeking to "justify himself". None of us are strangers to self-justification.

Jesus tells the parable wanting to deliver this man from his self-justification...finishing with the call "go and do likewise". And so he speaks to us today.
