Salvation Is Offered To All
Even as an infant, Jesus was accessible to everyone. Within days of His birth, people from different cultures and all walks of life came to be near Him: shepherds, townspeople, farmers, shopkeepers, travelers and wise men. Many were already believers that Jesus was the Messiah and would bring them eternal salvation.
There were some who made other choices. King Herod pretended to be interested but only so he could eliminate the newborn king. His heart was cold and filled with darkness. Herod would not accept Jesus nor His message of salvation. That is why the wise men did not go back to Herod. They returned to their country where they could share the good news of Jesus.
How do we, as Christian disciples, continue to spread the good news today? We become living examples of His message. Our words and actions become an open doorway to the path of salvation. Some will choose to enter and others will walk away. This should not discourage us nor make us reluctant to continue. After all, we have already chosen Jesus as our salvation.
