Every one of us has experienced (or soon will experience) storms in our life…a relationship that seemed so promising implodes, plans for a new job never materialize, hopes for a beloved child crash in the wake of unexpected news. When the ground beneath our feet doesn’t seem steady anymore, to whom can we turn for help, hope and security? From a fishing boat in the middle of the Sea of Galilee, Jesus demonstrated that his amazing love is paired with infinite power. The lesson for his disciples then (as well as for his disciples now) is that when we find ourselves in the midst of an unexpected storm, we are to find our shelter in him.
