Jesus Came to Give Life Not Destroy It
Luke 9:51-56; John10:10
On this occasion, the Samaritans did not welcome or receive Jesus because he was on his way to Jerusalem to be handed over to men. Jesus rebuked the disciples for wanting to destroy Samaria with fire for not accepting them in their land. Instead, Jesus told his disciples that "the Son of Man did not come to destroy men's lives, but to save them." And as you may know, that's precisely what he did: he died on the cross for all of us.
Jesus, our guiding light, wants us to experience him and live this life with him. He is there to guide us, along with His Holy Spirit, who is our Helper and Counselor. When we allow Jesus to be the King, Lord, and the reason we live this life, we feel his guidance and support, and we desire him more, not wanting to be separated from him.
Today, I encourage you to grab onto Jesus, for he doesn't want to destroy you; he came to give you life and to have it more abundantly by allowing him to be the Lord of your life.
