Jacob saw a stairway to heaven—a powerful image later fulfilled in Christ Himself. No longer do we climb to God through our own efforts. In Jesus, God comes down to us. Through the Mass and the Eucharist, we are lifted, drawn into His presence, and united with Heaven. Every Catholic altar becomes the place where heaven touches earth.
