We obviously live in the physical realm, but there is a spiritual realm in which spiritual beings – angels – operate all the time (2 Kings 6). This is happening all the time, but Satan and demons prefer to keep their presence quiet so you don’t know it’s happening. But when Jesus was present and preaching, they could not keep from announcing both their presence and Jesus’ power over them. That’s what we see here and will explore in Matthew 8:28-34.
