Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane
After Jesus had his final meal before he died he went to The Garden of Gethsemane with some of his disciples. This episode is all about what went on there, highlighting the cup which Jesus requested to be taken away from him. What would have happened if God had agreed to Jesus' request? Jesus said to the mob, “Why do you come with swords and clubs to arrest me like a criminal? Day after day I sat and taught in the temple, and you didn't arrest me. 56 But all this happened, so that what the prophets wrote would come true.”

3-5 Judas had promised to betray Jesus. So he went to the garden with some Roman soldiers and temple police, who had been sent by the chief priests and the Pharisees. Jesus already knew everything that was going to happen, but he asked, “Who are you looking for?” They answered, “We are looking for Jesus from Nazareth!”...

51 “Enough of that!” Jesus said. Then he touched the servant's ear and healed it.

50 All of Jesus' disciples ran off and left him. 51 One of them was a young man who was wearing only a linen cloth. And when the men grabbed him, 52 he left the cloth behind and ran away naked.
