Was the arrival of Jesus something that would've caught your average Torah reading Jew off guard, or did the Hebrew Bible look forward to the day when the "Anointed One" would free God's people and rule the nations?  We often read Jesus back into the Old Testament, but oddly enough the Old Testament looks forward to the coming of Jesus.  Paul makes the case that Jesus came to prove God's word true, if that is the case what parts of God's word directly involve Jesus?
