#5 Jesus My Savior
By Louie Marsh, 2-5-2023
There is something wrong with the human race,
A Century of Holocausts:
Armenian genocide in Turkey (1915-1917) 1.5 million
Japanese slaughter of civilians in China (1939-1945) 3.9 million
Stalin’s Holodomor (1932-1933) 5 million
Hitler’s Holocaust (1940-1945) 14 million
Mao’s killing millions in China (1949-1976) 40-80 million
Bangladesh Genocide (3-26-71 – 12/1971) 300,000 – 3 million
Killing Grounds in Cambodia (1975-1979) 1.5 – 3 million killed
Rwanda (7 April – 15 July 1994) 500,000-800,000
1) I need a SAVIOR whether I want one or not.
“11For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.” (Luke 2:11, ESV)
“10For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.”” (Luke 19:10, ESV)
“21She will bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.”” (Matthew 1:21, ESV)
2) Jesus came to deliver me from the GUILT of my sin.
“9If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” (1 John 1:9, ESV)
“14And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent his Son to be the Savior of the world.” (1 John 4:14, ESV)
“15The saying is trustworthy and deserving of full acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am the foremost.” (1 Timothy 1:15, ESV)
3) Three main avenues this deliverance FLOWS THRU.
“13So now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love.” (1 Corinthians 13:13, ESV)
“4since we heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and of the love that you have for all the saints, 5because of the hope laid up for you in heaven. Of this you have heard before in the word of the truth, the gospel,” (Colossians 1:4–5, ESV)
“3remembering before our God and Father your work of faith and labor of love and steadfastness of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ.” (1 Thessalonians 1:3, ESV)
“41And many more believed because of his word. 42They said to the woman, “It is no longer because of what you said that we believe, for we have heard for ourselves, and we know that this is indeed the Savior of the world.”” (John 4:41–42, ESV)
