Do you know what is the meaning of Sabbath?

How often do you hear people saying "I need to give my Sunday to God because it is Sabbath"?

Through today's scripture, Jesus rebuked the senseless law-keeping Pharisees because they did not understand the Word of God correctly. As a result, they caused a lot of "misconceptions" about the Gospel, misinterpreting the purpose of Sabbath.

It is never law but love that God has been emphasizing since the beginning of Creation.

Jesus is the Lord of Sabbath. He does not need us to give Him Sabbath, instead, He has come so that we can have Sabbath, i.e. rest. Only when we restore peace through focussed time with God can we be recharged to fight the flesh and temptations that come our way, it is only through resting in God can we receive inner healing and empowerment to continue our race on earth for the kingdom.
