WAR ROOM
Jesus Knocking
June 26, 2016
Please turn in Bibles: Revelation 3:14-22 (NIV)
…our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.
Ephesians 6:12
Problem of Pride (V 17): Pride blinded them to their desperate need
“Come, all you who are thirsty, come to the waters; and you who have no money, come, buy and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without money and without cost. 2 Why spend money on what is not bread, and your labor on what does not satisfy? Listen, listen to me, and eat what is good, and you will delight in the richest of fare.
Isaiah 55:1-2
Result of Pride (V 15-16): Lukewarmness-of no practical use
I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! 16 So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth.
Revelation 3:15-16
Solution to Pride (V 19-20)
“Those whom I love I rebuke and discipline. So be earnest and repent. 20 Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.” Revelation 3:19-20
Question: Has God provided so beautifully for us that we have forgotten how desperately we need Him?
