The women, His mama, Mary, the other Mary, the mother of James and Joses, and Mary Magdalene, were part of the long and dark journey. They were privy to His shame and suffering and eventual death. They had their questions but remained loyal even in the face of hopelessness.

Every one of them had a unique relationship with Him. These women were eternally committed, having been rescued from much. He made so much difference in their lives that committing to Him was their grateful act. But now, they don't even know what to believe. He held so much hope, but recent events cast heavy darkness on their belief.

His deposits in their lives demanded their loyalty, even in death. They loved Him so much they were willing to care for his dead body.
