God's purpose in marriage is not just to make us happy in a companion but to teach us to love like He loves. When conflict in marriage gets heated to the point of relational breakdown, normally idolatry is present. An idol is something that takes the place of God in your life, and sometimes marital conflict is because you are looking for your spouse to fulfill a need only God can. Broken marriages need the power of hope that comes from knowing God has a plan. The Cross and the Resurrection are God's answer to irreconcilable differences!
