In John 17:1–26, we are given the powerful picture of Jesus praying just before the cross—praying first for His glory, that the Father would be glorified through His obedience and sacrifice; then for His disciples, that they would be protected, sanctified in truth, and united in a hostile world; and finally for all future believers, including us, that we would be one and one day share in His glory.
