Most people can tolerate and even like Jesus as the rebel, or as the warm-fuzzy hippy, but when  Jesus laid claim to the throne of Heaven it got him crucified. It is Jesus the resurrected King of Heaven that people struggle with, because it demands we accept him as Lord or reject him.
