Jesus Sees Us with Eyes of Grace

Ptr. Gerbert Reyes (PE)

šŸ“– Luke 5:8

ā€œWhen Simon Peter saw this, he fell at Jesus’ knees and said, ā€˜Go away from me, Lord; I am a sinful man!ā€™ā€

Simon’s response to the miracle wasn’t pride—it was humility. He saw Jesus’ holiness and felt his own unworthiness. But Jesus didn’t reject him. He called him.

Jesus doesn’t wait for us to be perfect. He calls us as we are — flawed, broken, ordinary. He sees beyond our past and invites us into a future filled with purpose.

Simon was a fisherman, but Jesus saw a disciple. Jesus used language Simon understood — ā€œfishing for peopleā€ā€” to invite him into a mission that would change lives.

šŸ’ Reflection: What part of your life makes you feel unworthy of God’s calling? Can you trust that Jesus sees more in you than you see in yourself?

šŸ™šŸ» Prayer: Lord, thank You for calling me as I am. Help me to see myself through Your eyes and trust that You have a purpose for my life, even when I feel unworthy. Amen.
