Jesus Sends Us With Eternal Purpose

📖 Luke 5:10–11

“Then Jesus said to Simon, ‘Don’t be afraid; from now on you will fish for people.’ So they pulled their boats up on shore, left everything and followed him.”

After meeting Jesus, witnessing a miracle, and realizing his own unworthiness, Simon Peter is given a new mission: “From now on, you will fish for people.”

Jesus doesn’t just call us to Himself—He sends us out with Him. He gives us a purpose that matters for eternity.

This calling isn’t just for Simon. It’s for us too. Jesus is working in the lives of people around us — our friends, family, coworkers, classmates — and He’s placed us there for a reason. We are His hands and feet. We’re part of how He reaches others.

So let’s be present. Let’s be intentional. Let’s engage people with grace and compassion, trusting that Jesus is already at work in their hearts.

💭 Reflection: Who is one person in your life right now that Jesus might be calling through you? How can you be available to reflect His love and purpose?

🙏🏻 Prayer: Jesus, thank You for giving me a purpose that lasts. Help me to see others through Your eyes and be ready to share Your love. Use me to be part of how You call others into their true purpose. Amen.
