This Sunday we relaunch We Believe by turning our attention to the Son and asking the question that shook the early church: Who is Jesus? Tracing the road from Pentecost to the First Council of Nicaea, we’ll see why the Nicene Creed speaks so carefully of Christ as “God from God… true God from true God… of the same essence as the Father.” Walking through key biblical texts, we’ll see that Scripture leaves no room to shrink Jesus down — and we’ll wrestle with why it matters that the One who died and rose for us is not merely like God, but God Himself come to save.
