Jesus' Visitation

Listen Later

Luke 19:28-44; Luke 1:68; 2 Chronicles 24:20-; Jeremiah 26: 22-23; Psalm 122:6

In this chapter, Jesus predicts the future destruction of the city of Jerusalem, which did occur in 70 AD as he foresaw. Despite knowing of his impending death in Jerusalem, Jesus showed compassion by weeping over the city. He extends this same compassion to us Gentiles, offering to be the Lord of our lives if we accept Him as our Savior.
Although Jesus was crucified outside Jerusalem, he was also beaten within the city. His visit to Jerusalem affirms that salvation comes through Him and His people. No other well-known god or prophet has died for their followers, only Jesus. It saddened Jesus that even His own people would reject Him despite witnessing the miracles He performed.
Today, you can invite Jesus to enter your life and fill it with His love, kindness, and peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). He is a gentle savior who will only come into your life if you invite Him in (Revelation 3:20). I encourage you to welcome Him into your life today!
P.S.: Selah means pausing in music or reciting a poem.
