Leprosy, a disease with significant beginnings and slow, inevitable progress, serves as a powerful analogy for sin. Both leprosy and sin lead to a loss of feeling and result in separation from God and others. While leprosy was considered incurable in ancient times; Jesus, moved with compassion, heals the man with leprosy and He also offers a cure for sin through His sacrifice on the cross.
