In the midst of extolling the virtues, power and relevance of the Gospel of Messiah to his Roman Messianic readers, Paul makes a rather shocking statement that many, within and without our Faith Community today, either embraces or ignores:

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Messiah: for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth: to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”

The gospel applies to the Jew first, and oh by the way, it applies to you non-Jews as well? What in the world could the renowned Apostle to the Gentiles mean by this confusing statement?

Let’s dig into this challenging Pauline passage and see if we can nail down what Paul meant by the statement: “…to the Jew first and also to the Greek.”
