Johannesburg Mayor Dada Morero came under severe criticism when he announced that the City of Johannesburg and Tshwane metros would prioritise fixing G20 routes ahead of meetings by the G20 global leaders. During the launch of the local government leg of G20 on Monday Morero said that areas where the high-level meetings are taking place would be the first to be cleaned up. For those of us who live in Johannesburg know just how dirty this city is and hearing such comments from the mayor does not give much confidence to us as citizens.
