The NRL has ratified Kieran Foran's contract with the Warriors, but has stopped short of giving him the green light to return.
The former Kiwis playmaker must pass a further psychological assessment, before pulling on the Warriors jersey in round three against the Bulldogs in Dunedin.
Warriors managing director Jim Doyle initially questioned the NRL's decision after the governing body was given expert advice that Foran could return to rugby league now.
However he said a delayed return is probably best for Foran as it wasn't too long ago that he was in a very dark place.
Doyle said there will be no injury problems with Foran when he returns as he's 100 percent ready to go now.
