Hello everyone and welcome to another episode of The Captain’s Coach Podcast. I am your host Luke Poulos. Today I had the opportunity to interview Jim Gibbons. Jim is the Assistant Athletic Director, Head Baseball Coach, and Assistant Football Coach at Ravenscroft School in Raleigh, North Carolina. He has been there since 2008 and helped develop a very unique program in the high school sports world called the Student Athlete Leadership Training program. He serves as one of the mentors for the student athletes in the program to this day. We will talk much more about the program during today’s conversation. Prior to Ravenscroft, Jim worked at the Westminster Schools in Atlanta. Prior to that he coached at the collegiate level at a number of colleges to include Wingate University, University of Buffalo, Buffalo State, Cornell, and his alma mater, Ithaca College. At Ithaca, Jim played for hall of fame coach Jim Butterfield and was a member of their 1988 Division III National Championship team. You will here about his experiences there along with his great work with Leadership Training more during our conversation so I hope you enjoy it on another great episode of the Captain’s Coach Podcast.
