As one of the oldest commercial corridors in New York City, the New Dorp Lane District is in the heart of Staten Island and is home to some of the best businesses in the borough. Founded by Council Member Steven Matteo and the Staten Island Economic Development Corporation (SIEDC) in 2014 as a merchant program, the New Dorp Lane District is now a business improvement district that is dedicated to the business community along New Dorp Lane and Plaza. It provides daily cleanup, maintenance services, events and contributes to the economic vitality of the area.
