Exalting and Admiring God

Job 17-20: Reading the Room

Listen Later

Today's readings start with a continuance of Job's plea heartbroken plea, into Bildad's second and final speech. Chapter 19 includes Job's hope found in the Redeemer who saves and vindicates people for His glory. Finally, we end today's reading with Zophar's flawed worldview that Job must've done something wrong and that suffering only comes when sin is committed. While God does punish when we sin, we must also remember that God is a God of mercy and of love and that He forgvives us our trespasses because of His Son's atoning sacrifice.

We must be diligent to teach both the justice and the mercy of God and be able to read the room well when it comes to sharing the Gospel.

Let us carry out Christ into the world as we live our lives and as we have been graciously been saved, let us proclaim the goodness of the Almighty. To him be the glory! Amen!
