🎧 Job 22 | False Accusation

Eliphaz invents sins.

"You stripped people of their clothing, leaving them naked. You gave no water to the weary and withheld food from the hungry. You sent widows away empty-handed."

None of it is true. The narrator told us in chapter 1: Job was blameless. There is no evidence anywhere in the book that Job did any of these things. Eliphaz is fabricating — and the fabrication is the lowest point of the friends' long slide from comfort to cruelty.

When theology requires lying about people to stay intact, the theology is broken.
