Exalting and Admiring God

Job 6-9: The Paradox of Suffering and Sovereignty

Listen Later

Today's reading covers Job's response to Bildad, Bildad's rebuttal and Job's confession of God's sovereignty and his finitude. Job's confessed that God was so glorious and so mighty that he could not stand before him and stand chance. Job's confession is something that we need to be reminded of often. God is greater than us and he is higher than us thus we stand no chance before him. So we must rest in his plans and in his ways and trust that because he is just and merciful and lovely and truthful that he can and he will provide for our eternal good. Let us run the race before us with endurance, looking to Christ. Let us not become entangled with the sufferings of this world but look to the eternal weight of glory that lies ahead!

Let us carry out Christ into the world as we live our lives and as we have been graciously been saved, let us proclaim the goodness of the Almighty. To him be the glory! Amen!
