The book of Job is in the form of a contest of wills - a back and forth argument between Job and his supposed friends. Bildad attacks Job for not being in the right. Sometimes the world we live in is upside down. The righteousness we deserve is not always given, and there is not always a cause behind suffering. Yet we are called to persevere despite our circumstances. Our Lord himself had nowhere to lay his head, yet he was without sin so that we might be saved.
