In Job 22:21–30, Eliphaz closes his final speech with an invitation that sounds genuinely beautiful — submit to God, lay up his words, let him be your gold. Real truth, real promises, real theology. The problem is it's all built on a diagnosis that's wrong. And at the very end, he paints a picture of Job as an intercessor for others — not knowing that by the end of the book, that's exactly what Job will become. Just not the way Eliphaz imagined.
