Australian Jock Palfreeman has been in a Bulgarian prison since 28 December 2007 when he was taken into custody for the stabbing murder of Andrei Monov. He says Monov and his friends were attacking two young Roma men, known colloquially as “gypsies”, and he was defending them. The victim’s father says he’s a monster.
