joe met his co-founder, kaiwei in 2014 in a google experimental program. as an artist and a product designer, they began to realize that the direction smartphones were headed was putting quality of life in the backseat. the transition to light phone, which Joe and kaiwei nicknamed 'going light,' breaks users free from the way we're used to doing things -- and brings it back to the basics.
