Joe Norman is a complex systems and data scientist with a PhD in Complex Systems and Brain Sciences. This episode is filled with fresh ways of thinking about our increasingly complex, interdependent world. Joe studies systemic risks in large-scale systems, pattern formations in biological and social systems, biological perception, policy design, and evolution.

In this episode, we apply the science of complexity to our day-to-day lives. We discuss risk and how to avoid it, what we can learn from architectural design, how to think about planning, the philosophy of science and the beauty we can find in it, and we even dive into the art of motorcycle maintenance.

Like complexity itself, this episode is wide-ranging,  and extremely relevant to our daily lives. Joe's timeless insights will give you a new lens to see the world with.
