Joe Sigurdson of Boys to Men Mentoring Interview

Joe Sigurdson is the incredible co-Founder of Boys To Men Mentoring. Joe and his team at Boys to Men guide, support and mentor at-risk youth providing guidance to help keep them off the streets, out of gangs, and away from destructive habits that destroy lives.

Since 1996, Joe, the Boys to Men team, and his army of volunteers which includes leading members of the San Diego surfing and business communities, have worked with more than 12,000 teen and adolescent boys through their In-School Mentoring and Adventure Mountain Weekends Programs.

As usual with inspiring stories like these, there’s an exciting backstory too. Joe made some bad decisions which led him first down the road of addiction, then after hitting his bottom, the road of redemption.

In this episode, we’ll hear about Joe’s journey to the bottom, how his wife Nancy helped him turn his life around, how Boys to Men was formed, and their journey to where they are today with one of the largest in-school mentoring programs for at risk youths in San Diego County and the Boys to Men Adventure Mountain Weekend program. We’ll also hear about all the exciting events Boys to Men has going on including the CaddyHack Golf Festival, the 100 Wave Challenge, and this year’s Boys to Men 25th Anniversary Gala.
