This week, screenwriter and playwright Joe Tracz talks about two big projects in progress: "Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events" for Netflix and "Percy Jackson: The Lightning Thief" for Broadway.
Joe's a big YA lit fan, and having "A Series of Unfortunate Events" be a big hit for Netflix (and already given the go-ahead for a Season 2), plus having co-written the stage adaptation of "Percy Jackson: The Lightning Thief" which has been performed as a one-act play and is now coming to the stage as a musical production to Broadway feels like a magical start to 2017.
Joe talks about the challenges of adapting such beloved series to new formats, and hopefully in a way that will make fans of both of the original series forget their disappointment with previous adaptations.
