I have no qualms in saying Joel De Carteret has the most interesting artist’s journey to date on Tight Forty Five. Having lost his mother as a boy in the bustling Muñoz Market in the Philippines, Joel was adopted out to an anglo Australian couple at the age of 6 in Melbourne. This was terrifying, confusing and overwhelming for that young boy many years ago.

I’ve known Joel for almost 30 years and in that time I’ve seen him flourish as a performer in musical theatre ,as a t.v actor, dancer, choreographer and videographer. 

He is so much more than all these things combined. 

I could go on all day about my Filipino brother from two other mothers, but you’re better off just listening to him tell his story.
