Joel Stransky played a pivotal role in one of history’s great leadership masterstrokes.

He made 22 test appearances for the Springboks but is best remembered for slotting the winning drop goal in the final of the 1995 Rugby World Cup.

He was centre stage in Nelson Mandela’s plan to use the Springboks to help unite a new South Africa.
