Johan Blende on the Virtual Sessions presented by The DJ Sessions 8/30/22 About Johan Blende - Johan Blende is a Swedish music producer, song writer and DJ. For the biggest part of this side of the millennium he’s been weaving together modern dance music elements with retro sounds of the ‘70s and ‘80s. Originally from Stockholm, Johan is currently residing in London where he has spent most of the past 20 years. Having an early love for organic pop music, disco & punk as well as ‘90s techno & house, he collected records in his youth that led to a passion for DJ-ing. Finding it would make sense to make his own records it wasn’t always obvious what he wanted to focus on, approaching it more as an ever developing process. Starting off releasing a few noisy EPs and remixes on various European and US labels, he eventually started going back more to his roots and in 2012 he signed with Belgian disco label Eskimo, releasing a string of singles, “Fake Love”, “Rikki” & “Running”, which received rotation on national radio in Belgium, The Netherlands, UK & Sweden. Taking a temporary hiatus from DJ sets & releasing records during 2015-16 to write and to produce for other acts, Johan returned in mid-2017 with single “Back to Summertime” & 2018 looks to have him fully back on track with new retro-inspired single “Do You Remember?”         About The DJ Sessions - “The DJ Sessions” is a Twitch/Mixcloud "Featured Partner” live streaming/podcast series featuring electronic music DJ’s/Producers via live mixes/interviews and streamed/distributed to a global audience.
