Af: Die pad kronkel voort deur die Grysrivierpas.
En: The road winds on through the Grysrivierpas.

Af: Dit is die winter skoolvakansie, en die somber wolke hang laag oor die Tuinroete.
En: It is the winter school holiday, and the somber clouds hang low over the Tuinroete.

Af: Elsa en Lukas is albei opgewonde.
En: Elsa and Lukas are both excited.

Af: Hulle lag en praat aanhoudend.
En: They laugh and talk incessantly.
