The Vine, the Gardener, and the Branches

In John 15, Jesus speaks to His disciples at a critical moment. These are not casual teachings. They are final, anchoring words given just before His arrest and crucifixion.

Jesus uses an image His listeners would immediately understand:

• He is the true vine — the source of life
• The Father is the gardener — the one who tends, prunes, and oversees growth
• We are the branches — designed to receive life, not manufacture it

A branch does not struggle to produce fruit. It simply remains connected.
