When you think about, look to, or even consider prayer what comes to mind? Not what do you think ought to come to mind. Really, what comes to mind? Is prayer: Boring? Awkward? Ineffective? Private personal piety? A pipe dream?

What if prayer was bigger, brighter, simpler, and more marvelous than you ever imagined? That would be legit. Right?

Even if you say, "yes, that would be 'legit'." You may be thinking, "But, I am not a praying person." Or, "I am not qualified for prayer." Or, "Prayer takes a special person (an old lady in a church basement)...prayer is not for me."

We think otherwise. Not because you're so great and you can #doit! Prayer is open to you, me, us because prayer is opened wide in Jesus. Over the coming weeks and months, we'll hear from Jesus' own prayers. The great cries of his heart, the prayers he gives to you and me, and the bits between.

All we're asking is, "Lord, teach us to pray."
