The early church didn’t have the blessing we enjoy of having easy access to the New Testament. Much of what they knew of the Gospel was passed on by word of mouth from passionate followers of Jesus. As copies of the Gospel accounts started to circulate, often the first section people wanted to get a hold of was the passage Pastor Ray is getting into today. People longed to read this account of Jesus’ most profound and loving act: His death and resurrection for the salvation of sinners.
