Jesus appears at the Sea of Galilee while the disciples are fishing. He calls out telling them to put their nets in again. They had not caught anything all night so they were resistant to the idea. They did it anyway, and they caught 153 fish!
Jesus reinstates Peter into leadership giving him the opportunity to affirm his love three times just as he had denied Jesus three times the night of Jesus’ arrest.
John ends his eyewitness account with the following: “Jesus did many other things as well. If every one of them were written down, I suppose that even the whole world would not have room for the books that would be written.” (John 21:25 NIV)
