Listen Later

Welcome to this week’s worship service!

In one of the most beloved yet debated passages of Scripture, we encounter Jesus and the woman caught in adultery. Though the earliest manuscripts of John do not include this story, it beautifully reflects the heart of Jesus — a Savior who confronts sin with truth and extends mercy with grace.

📖 In John 8:1–11, the religious leaders bring before Jesus a woman caught in sin, hoping to trap Him. But Jesus turns their scheme into a lesson on judgment, compassion, and the true nature of righteousness.

From this passage, we see:

Jesus as both the confronter and the comforter

The hypocrisy of those quick to condemn others while ignoring their own sin

That mercy does not ignore sin — it transforms those who receive it

How Jesus’ words, “Neither do I condemn you. Go now and leave your life of sin,” reveal both forgiveness and a call to holiness

Even when the world points fingers, Jesus stoops down in grace. He doesn’t excuse sin — He rescues sinners.
