04.17.2016 - By Matthew Tommasi: Ultramarathon Runner, Spiritual, Endurance
Having already conquered a solo crossing of the Atlantic Ocean, John Beedon knew in his heart that he still had more.. much more.
In December 2015, John became the first person to successfully row non-stop across the enormous Pacific Ocean, from San Francisco to Cairns in Australia.
Averaging up to 15 hours per day for 209 days, John rowed approximately 14,000km.
Constantly battling ocean winds and currents, John would regularly be blown hundreds of kilometres backwards.
What makes John's story truly remarkable, is that he has also survived open heart surgery.
