John C. Mather is Senior Astrophysicist at the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, MD. He is currently Senior Project Scientist for the James Webb Space Telescope. We talk about cosmic microwave background, building telescopes, and the role of science in society and government.
