John Flaherty out at YES Network after 20 years in Yankees TV shakeup

Listen Later

Former Yankees catcher John Flaherty, a West Nyack native, has ended his twenty-year broadcasting career with the YES Network. After not receiving a new contract, Flaherty, along with Jeff Nelson and Dave Valle, will not return next season. Flaherty, who played for the Red Sox, Tigers, Padres, Rays, and Yankees, expressed gratitude for his time with the Yankees and the YES Network. Familiar faces like David Cone, Paul O'Neill, Joe Girardi, Michael Kay, and Ryan Ruocco will continue in their roles, but Flaherty's departure may change the dynamic of play-by-play broadcasts.
