Host: Debbie Antonelli
In this episode, of Nothing But Net with Debbie Antonelli, Debbie is joined by John Gibbs, the self-proclaimed ‘Greatest Women’s Basketball Fan.’ Usually he and his wife Sue go to hundreds of games a year in-person, but due to COVID-19, that has changed a bit this year. They have watched almost 400 games on TV and has been to a total of 46 in-person.
John tells Debbie where his love for the game of women’s basketball started, in March of 2001, with tickets to a second round matchup between Stanford and Oklahoma in Norman, OK. That same year, he caught a Sweet Sixteen matchup between Duke and SW Missouri State that featured a little guard, named Jackie Stiles, who put up 41 points and lifted her team past the top-seeded Blue Devils.
They also discuss his philanthropic efforts and support of the Kay Yow Cancer Fund, breakdown of this year’s Final Four and much more in a very special episode of Nothing But Net with Debbie Antonelli.
