Today on The 415ers, hosts Evan Giddings and Marc Grandi react to San Francisco 49ers General Manager John Lynch's comments at the NFL Scouting Combine from earlier this week.
(1:33) Lynch says that the 49ers may be involved in the quarterback market this offseason. What might he mean by that? Should the team be targeting a proven veteran who's past his prime? Or might the 49ers let the offseason quarterback carousel play out and then pick up a career journeyman that's left over once other teams have already solved their quarterback rooms? And can we glean anything about what Lynch, Kyle Shanahan, and the 49ers think about their current quarterbacks based on who they sign this offseason?
(17:17) Plus, Lynch directly commented on Jimmy Garoppolo, again shutting down the possibility of his return to San Francisco. Is there any reason to not believe him here? Also, Lynch discussed Trey Lance's important offseason and the desire to get him on the field. But will the 49ers actually follow through with those words, unless absolutely forced? Haven't the team's actions up to this point suggested that they are not sure Lance is capable to help them win games?
(31:21) The guys also revisit a conversation from last episode and discuss if Nick Bosa may have spoiled the 49ers' offseason plans. Does San Francisco expect Emmanuel Moseley to return next season? Plus, the NFLPA released its first-ever team report cards, in which 1,300 players graded their NFL franchise in a variety of categories. The 49ers finished in the top 10, but what else from these grades stand out?
