John the Baptist is one of the strangest characters in the Bible. And sure enough, before God used him as the preacher and prophet we’ve heard so much about, he spent a long time isolated and away from people. We don’t know much at all about that time, except some odd things about his diet and clothing style. But he obviously learned some valuable life lessons that have been passed on to us in the records of his ministry. (WT25)
